YOUR INFORMATION. YOUR CHOICE.
Privacy & community terms.
Updated 7 September 2026. Crew X is a professional introduction service operated by Jonathan Degueldre for photographers, videographers, technical crew, assistants and companies.
Optional AI profile assistance
If you choose to generate profile suggestions, the notes you enter, your current bio and selected roles are sent to OpenAI. Your photos, private messages and account contact fields are not included. Leave confidential details out of your notes. Suggestions can be inaccurate: review them before applying and saving. We request that generated responses are not stored by the API; provider processing and retention policies still apply. The portfolio plan is advice and does not change your gallery.
What we collect
We store the account email and the details you enter in your profile: your name or company name, contact name, location, disciplines, specialities, introduction, profile photo, website, optional social links, optional phone number, travel preference and discovery choice. We also store your consent time, connection requests and support messages. We keep your latest activity time to show an approximate online indicator while Crew X is open.
Your existing Crew X account provider, Supabase, manages your login credentials. This website does not store your password in its profile database.
What other members can see
Discovery is off until you opt in. When enabled, signed-in members can see your profile name, city and country, disciplines, specialities, profile photo, biography, website, social links and travel preference. Your company contact name, email and phone remain private. Visitors can see anonymous match counts by professional role, location or speciality, without names or profile details. Members who can see your profile in discovery or their connections can see when you were recently online. The indicator clears shortly after you leave; we do not display your exact activity time.
Sending a connection request shares your introduction and profile with its recipient, even if you have not enabled discovery. Accepting a request shares both members’ chosen contact email (or account email when no separate address is set), contact name and optional phone number with each other. Declining does not share those details. Do not put private information in your public biography or introduction unless you want the other member to see it.
Crew X administration
Administration access is separate from member connections. Joining Crew X does not automatically connect you to the admin profile. Connections with that profile use the same request-and-accept process as other members.
Founding Crew community
The group is optional and invitation-only. Joining makes your name and group messages visible to other joined members, including future members, and gives you access to earlier messages. Joining does not share contact details or create personal connections. You can remove your own messages; administrators can moderate group posts. Leaving prevents access but keeps your earlier posts; deleting your profile removes them. Messages from blocked members are hidden in both directions.
Photo likes
Signed-in members who can view a portfolio photo can like or unlike it. Crew X stores the photo reference, member reference and time to keep one like per member. Other viewers see the total number of likes, not a list of who liked it. Deleting a photo or account removes its likes.
Profile activity
When a signed-in member opens another member’s profile, Crew X records one visit per member per day. Activity is shown only to the profile owner for the last 30 days. Your visits are anonymous in their totals unless you switch on “Show my name on future profile visits.” Switching it off removes your name from earlier recorded visits too. Blocked members are excluded. Visits do not share your email, phone or private messages. Older records are removed during subsequent activity processing; deleting a profile removes its visit records.
Why we use your information
We use it to operate accounts, build the Crew X directory, suggest relevant members and help people make professional connections. Crew X administration can review and export registration information and respond to support requests. Registration does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Storage and account controls
Account identity is managed by Supabase. Website profiles and connections are stored using Cloudflare infrastructure through Sites. These providers may process information outside your country. Essential cookies keep you logged in; this launch does not include advertising trackers.
You can edit your profile, turn off discovery, disconnect from another member or remove your web profile under Settings. Removing it deletes its web profile and connections. Your existing Crew X app/login account remains active; request separate account assistance through support. Information already received by another member cannot be recalled. Support records are kept for handling the request; ask Crew X if you need those records removed. Operational backups may retain information temporarily.
Your calendar and voice search
Calendar titles, dates, status, location and notes are stored privately for your account. Entries do not send invitations or create bookings. Removing your web profile deletes its calendar entries. Optional voice search uses your browser’s speech service, which may process audio remotely. Crew X does not store audio; the recognised search text is used to find matches. You can always type instead.
Work and behind-the-scenes photos
Your profile gallery stores the photos and captions you upload. Gallery photos follow your profile visibility and blocking settings; they are available to signed-in members who can view your profile. Removing a gallery photo or your web profile deletes the gallery images. Upload only images you have permission to share, including permission from people shown where necessary.
Your private network
Your favourites and network lists are private to your account. We store list names and the connections you add. You can rename or delete lists and remove people from them. Disconnecting removes that person from your lists; removing your web profile deletes your lists.
Messages between connections
Accepted connections can exchange private text messages. Messages are stored with your website data and are accessible through the app only to the two participants. Disconnecting or deleting a web profile deletes the associated conversation. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
Your contact email
You can choose a separate contact email in your profile. Accepted connections see that address instead of your registered email. Leaving it blank shares your registered email with accepted connections. Your login and password-reset address do not change.
Blocking and reporting
You can report or block a member from their profile. Blocking removes your connection, conversation, network memberships and pending calendar requests, and prevents profile access and new contact in both directions. Existing calendar bookings remain. The block is private and stays in place if either person removes and recreates their web profile using the same login. Manage your blocked members in Settings. Reports include the member’s profile reference and your description for Crew X administration to review. You can also report a received chat message: the selected message, sender reference, timestamp and your explanation are retained in the support report, including after the conversation is removed.
A professional community
Use your real professional identity and accurate information. Only link to work you are entitled to share. Do not impersonate others, harass people, spam the network or publish someone else’s private details. Crew X may hide a reported profile while a concern is reviewed.
Profiles are supplied by members. Recommendations reflect location, disciplines and specialities; they are not endorsements, checks of qualifications, guarantees of availability or promises of work. Members agree their own scope, rates, contracts and payments outside Crew X. This launch does not handle bookings or payments.
